The apartment

Casa Caterina is located on the first floor of a typical Venezia 18th century building. The street lies within the very first area to be built in Livorno. You will stay in the middle of history, of real Italian everyday life and of buzzling night life, all at once.

The apartment is a spacious studio with a separate sleeping alcove. The bed is queen size (160 cm). The living room has a sofa bed which can sleep one adult or two children (120 cm bed width). There is a foldable screen that can be put up to separate the two sleeping areas.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped and includes a four hob gas cooker with an electric oven. A few essentials for your cooking, like a selection of spices, olive oil, coffee, tea and sugar, will be at your disposal.

The window facing the courtyard has a mosquito screen and exterior shutters. Both the window and front door are new and super insulated to effectively keep out street noise.

The bathroom has a shower and a washing machine. For your convenience, some bathroom basics will be availabe, like soap and shampoo.

For entertainment there is free wifi, a TV, a dvd player with a selection of films (mostly Italian classics), and a cd player.

Accessibility

A flight of 27 stairs leads up to the entrance of the apartment. The building has no lift.

 

The street

Viale Caprera is a car free street with a canal running through it. Opposite the canal there is the Bottini dell'Olio, one of the city's oldest houses which used to be a warehouse for olive oil waiting to be shipped out of Livorno's free port.
 

During the day the street is very quiet and tranquil, only to transform in the evening when the restaurants and bars open. You will have a large choice of food and entertainment literally at your doorstep, so if you don't feel like cooking in the flat there are plenty of options for a nice evening meal.
 

Around the corner from the apartment there is a handy store selling basic foodstuffs, while the nearest supermarket is located about 10 minutes' walk away.

The neighbourhood

The Venezia quarters are very attractive with its canals, its authenticity and its location. You are close to all major sights and the absolute city centre, yet in another world. Venezia is a village of its own, filled with character and charm. The area has many restaurants and in summer every year there is a popular festival on and around the canals, Effetto Venezia.
